We invite persons from all backgrounds and creeds to join in Christian fellowship.
Serving God
Acclaiming Jesus
Loving our Neighbors
Teaching the Word
Jesus gave ‘the church’ a mission statement when he spoke to his disciples on a mountain in Galilee.
And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.’ (Matthew 28:18-20)
We know this as The Great Commission.
So why then, should our church create another mission statement? We felt we needed a concise and focused way to interpret how to fulfill The Great Commission. Through the four steps outlined in SALT we fulfill what He calls us to do and can realize God’s naming of us as ‘salt of the earth’.
We ask that as you do God’s work in our community of believers, neighborhood, and even globally, that you reflect on the mission of your activity. Does it serve one of the four purposes of the mission statement?
Lord, help us be SALT-Y for you!
